Senior Air Quality Specialist

Location: New Mexico

Altamira-US, LLC is seeking a Senior Air Quality Specialist with consulting experience and client relationships to grow our air quality services, based in New Mexico.

Business development with current and new clients will be a large responsibility of this position. Working with our existing multi-disciplinary team to expand services offered to clients and bringing on other talented air professionals will all be part of this exciting role. The ideal candidate will have work experience with industrial and manufacturing clientele and be experienced performing air dispersion modeling, Air Quality Analysis, NAAQS compliance, Excess Emissions Impacts Analysis, etc. and preparing air permitting documentation – Title V, New Source Review, Permits by Rule, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop business with current and new clients
  • Understand specific processes and develop a permitting and compliance strategy for clients
  • Achieve client’s expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality
  • Determine applicability of air quality regulations, including NSPS, MACT, NESHAP, and Emissions Inventory
  • Prepare minor source, major source, Title V and PSD air permits for submittal to appropriate regulatory agencies
  • Use various software (e.g., Promax, E&P tanks, etc.) to calculate site emissions
  • Assist in the completion of air emission inventories, greenhouse gas reporting, and NSPS/NESHAP compliance and reporting
  • Conduct field activities, sometimes requiring overnight travel, including, but not limited to inspecting and auditing facilities to evaluate compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements
  • Perform air dispersion modeling and prepare air quality analysis reports

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Environmental Science/Engineering or another related field
  • 5 years of relevant, progressively responsible work experience including interpreting and applying regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated project management experience, project coordination, and client interaction
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach, willing to work with other offices to cross-market service lines and work towards larger project opportunities
  • Initiative, attention to detail, analytical thinking, accountability, and commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to generate high-quality deliverables and technical reports independently
  • Proficient with MS Office Suites (Word, Excel & Power Point) and familiarity with various client management systems
