Altamira’s Chris Schaefer Appointed to Oklahoma Solid Waste Management Advisory Council

Chris Schaefer, P.E. has been appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate to the State of Oklahoma Solid Waste Management Advisory Council (SWMAC). The SWMAC advises elected officials on various solid waste issues and promotes communication, coordination and cooperation between public agencies and private industry. In addition, any proposed changes to solid waste rules and regulations must first be reviewed and approved by the SWMAC before being recommended to the Environmental Quality Board. Chris will provide expertise in the field of geology on this nine-member council.

Chris is looking forward to this opportunity and joins Altamira’s Laura Worthen Lodes, P.E. in serving the State of Oklahoma. Laura has served as the licensed professional engineer representative on the State of Oklahoma Air Quality Advisory Council (AQAC) since 2005 and was recently reappointed to this nine-member council by the Governor of Oklahoma. This is her third consecutive appointment for a 7-year term to the AQAC, who advises the Oklahoma Environmental Quality Board, the State Legislature and the Governor on air quality issues.

“Within Altamira, we obviously appreciate all of the knowledge that Chris and Laura have accumulated over their careers and how valuable that is to our clients”, said Trey Whitley, President of Altamira. “It’s exciting that the State of Oklahoma recognizes their experience and expertise too, and we know Laura and Chris will excel in their service to the State.”
